Careers of Yore

As I sit here on this Thursday night I'm pondering over careers that I would've chosen when I was younger. One the one hand I was always drawn to being a fighter pilot. Walking in the Lake District I would often be overflown by jets at low level and i'd always stop and stare in wonder. I love the idea of being a fighter pilot because of flying these amazing machines - not because of their intended use. But they are sweet.

I also wanted to be an architect. I love looking at interesting buildings, some of the finest being in New York. The Chrysler building and the Empire State particularly interest me as does this one (see picture) called the Flat Iron - no idea why but i think its cool. So much better than more modern glass and concrete things.

Many thanks to the RAF for the nice picture.
